From Buzzflash, “The first step is to learn the facts, and then to get angry and to ask ourselves, as progressives and caring human beings, what we can do about the relentless transfer of wealth to a small group of well-positioned Americans.

$2.13 per hour vs. $3,000,000.00 per hour

Each of the Koch brothers saw his investments grow by $6 billion in one year, which is three million dollars per hour based on a 40-hour ‘work’ week. They used some of the money to try to kill renewable energy standards around the country.” They also purchased a lot of politicians with that money in the form of their annual campaign contributions and political action committee support, which went to such political warriors for the 1 percent as Congressman John Boehner, Senator Orrin Hatch and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. That’s why they own your government, and you don’t.

The culture of political corruption in the nation’s capital was never on better display today than when US Corporate of the 1 Percent President Barack Obama signed the Monsanto Protection Act into law.

“Protesters have descended on Pennsylvania Avenue outside the White House this week, enraged at a potentially health-hazardous provision they allege lawmakers inserted surreptitiously into a continuing resolution (CR) that will fund the government through the remainder of the fiscal year. The bill sailed through the Capitol on Friday; President Obama signed it into law on Tuesday.

Opponents have termed the language in question the “Monsanto Protection Act,” a nod to the major agricultural biotech corporation and other like firms geared at producing genetically modified organisms (GMO) and genetically engineered (GE) seeds and crops. The provision protects genetically modified seeds from litigation suits over health risks posed by the crops’ consumption.

Food safety advocacy groups like Food Democracy Now, which collected more than 250,000 signatures on a petition calling for the president to veto the CR, argue not enough studies have been conducted into the possible health risks of GMO and GE seeds. Eliminating judicial power to halt the selling or planting of them essentially cuts off their course to ensuring consumer safety should health risks emerge.”

While Hungarians were burning corn fields planted illegally with seeds from Monsanto, US Corporate President of the 1 Percent Barack Obama signed into law….well, the captions of the photos say it all.

GMO foods have been linked to the rise of cancer and the worldwide allergy epidemic. In addition, some people have noted the strange coincidence of the rise of the obesity epidemic in the US and the spread of genetically modified foods over the last twenty years. Soy beans are in many US food products, such as ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, etc…. Ninety percent of all Soy Beans harvested in the US are genetically modified. And we’re not allowed to know this crap is in our food.

Obama has done something simple. He has redistributed our right to know and our health to the bottom lines of the manufacturers of GMO food products. It’s all about making the rich more affluent at the expense of the rest of us.

Get over it liberals. Obama is not a populist, nor even a Democrat. He’s an old fashioned right of center corporate drone, like Wall Street senators Ron Wyden and Orrin Hatch.

Television and newspaper news died many years ago. What is called news nowadays is a mixture of news, no-news and propaganda. News is the stuff that’s going on. No-news is the stuff that’s news, but the folks who manage the corporate news media won’t report it because it would sabotage their propaganda campaign against the 99 percent. Propaganda is pure bull shit pushed onto the 99 percent as fact.

Take automation. Even though advancing technology has been a partner with economic advancement for 200 or more years, the media has printed and told us stories via television news that the current dearth of US jobs have been caused by automation, which is a function of technology. Isn’t it strange that automation didn’t put us all out of work 100 years ago, or during the 1980s? Like there wasn’t automation back then. The automation story is pure propaganda. It’s fiction that the corporate press wants you to believe. However, the press doesn’t want you to believe that free trade treaties have led to the exporting of nearly thirty million US jobs to lower wage countries since 1994, the year NAFTA was signed into law. Don’t you think maybe that has something to do with the lack of US jobs? By the way, those jobs were part of the US tax base, which supported a lot more jobs that don’t exist because of the results of those free trade treaties.

There is a story below by Chris Hedges. In it he describes the day that television news died. However, the death of the news media began with the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Bill Clinton signed his name on the paper and it became law. The law allowed corporations to monopolize more and more media outlets. That’s the day the news media began to switch to the corporate propaganda machine.
