“What CNN did to Bernie Sanders in the Iowa Democratic presidential debate — stabbing him with the gender card on behalf of a weakened Elizabeth Warren — was cheap and unfair. And it was shameful,” John Kass of the Chicago Tribune wrote the day after last week’s little-watched Democratic Party debate.

Did Bernie really tell Elizabeth Warren in 2018 that a woman could not be president of the United States? I suspect it is highly unlikely.

As you can hear in the video above, it’s Sanders saying he thinks a woman can be president, and that was thirty years ago. Likewise, in the video below, Michael Moore says it is highly unlikely Bernie said that. And considering that Hillary Clinton received nearly five million more votes for president in 2016 than the electoral college elected Donald Trump, and you can begin to call in doubt that Bernie ever said anything like what Warren said about women not being able to be president of the United States.

I am not suggesting Warren lied, although it could be the case, but it could also be that she misunderstood something Bernie said. Or perhaps the corporate, that is to say, Wall Streeters who control the Democratic Party, were prepared to do anything to stop the surging in the polls Sanders, and Warren decided to give them a helping hand.

Kass noted, “Just before the debate, CNN ran a story portraying Sanders as a misogynist who thinks a woman couldn’t be elected president. That’s ridiculous. He doesn’t believe that.

And at the CNN debate, moderator Abby Phillip took Warren’s gender card, fashioned it into a knife and stabbed Sanders just weeks before the Iowa caucuses.

“Sen. Sanders, CNN reported yesterday, and Sen. Warren confirmed in a statement, that in 2018 you told her that you did not believe that a woman could win the election. Why did you say that?” Phillip asked of Sanders.

“Well,” Sanders said, “as a matter of fact, I didn’t say it.

“I don’t want to waste a whole lot of time on this, because this is what Donald Trump and maybe some of the media want,” Sanders added. “Anybody knows me knows that it’s incomprehensible that I would think that a woman cannot be president of the United States.

“Go to YouTube today,” Sanders said. “’There’s a video of me 30 years ago talking about how a woman could become president of the United States.’”

That video is at the top of this story. You can see the obvious. Why would Warren engage in a plot with Wall Street Democrats to derail Bernie Sanders? That too is incomprehensible, but it appears to be so.

It is also, Kass notes, probably not a coincidence that the Democrats are impeaching Donald Trump at this very moment. This pulls Bernie off the campaign trail into the halls of the Senate just when he is surging. Is not that an amazing coincidence?

“And now,” Kass wrote, “after weeks of stalling, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has finally brought the impeachment of President Donald Trump to the Senate.

This means Democratic presidential candidates who are also senators, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Warren of Massachusetts and Sanders of Vermont, are stuck in Washington as jurors.

And Joe (Biden)? With Bernie on Trump jury duty in Washington, Biden is left to wander around Iowa with (former) Mayor Pete — who also was not challenged by CNN — and that radical billionaire environmentalist who made his gold in fossil fuels.

No wonder Sanders’ supporters are upset. They’ve seen this before. They watched the same game play out three years ago, when the Democratic nomination was almost his, and establishment media handmaidens of the Democratic National Committee protected Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump.”

The Week reports:

The Democratic Party finds itself at a crossroads in the wake of Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss to Donald Trump, and party progressives want to see the “Clinton-corporate wing” of the Democratic establishment purged from the party. That will not likely happen absent an economic crisis.

The Democrats’ power struggle currently centers on who will be the next chair of the Democratic National Committee, a seat presently held by embattled interim chair Donna Brazile. That’s right. She’s the person fired from her job at CNN for illegally leaking town hall and televised debate questions to candidate Hillary Clinton. Candidates for the position have rapidly multiplied as too many Washington connections have become a liability.

“There is no question there is a civil war taking place inside the Democratic Party,” said Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks of the post-election climate. “And the progressive side is going to win.” Still, it won’t be an easy fight: The Democratic establishment will “hold on to the party mechanisms until you rip it out of their dying hands,” said Jonathan Tasini, a Bernie Sanders surrogate. “It’s all about power and money and influence for them.”

On behalf of the Wall Street Democratic Establishment and its presidential candidate, the corporate propaganda machine, otherwise known as the news media, is blasting away at Bernie Sanders with vicious and negative editorials, while painting only positive pictures of Hillary Clinton.

Hillary is in big trouble as her campaign stalls because the corporate propaganda machine failed to convince enough voters that Clinton had already won the nomination by winning the South. So that’s why the PR attacks against Sanders have accelerated. Bernie has won 8 of the last 9 states. He can catch up to Hillary with wins in California, Pennsylvania and New York. As for the remaining states, Bernie is a big favorite to win most of those. So Wall Street and the Democratic Establishment have become nervous, and so launched the negative Bernie campaign. The last thing the Wall Street establishment wants is a President Bernie Sanders.

The New York Daily News interviewed Bernie and misrepresented much of what he said. For example, the interviewer asked Sanders how he would break up the big banks. Sanders responded with “legislation.” The interviewer then began to mock Sanders. CNN ran with the story, as did numerous other corporate propaganda networks.

Apparently, no one at any of the “news propaganda for working folks networks” understands that breaking up the big banks requires legislation, which can come in numerous forms, such as the reinstatement of Glass-Steagall. Hillary’s husband Bill Clinton signed the bill ending Glass-Steagall, and ushering in massive bank mergers. Legislation reversing Clinton’s action is required to reinstate Glass-Steagall, which would then break-up the commercial and investment banking firms. JP Morgan/Chase, for example, would be forced to become two companies, like in the old days; JP Morgan and Chase Bank. Of course, further legislation would be needed to break-up these still big banks.

Establishment columnist Paul Krugman has attacked Bernie with falsehoods about the last recession and Wall Street’s role in it, the president of General Electric has struck out at Sanders, and the list goes on and on. And they’re all wrong in their criticism.

The ignorance of these news interviewers and the bias in favor of the Wall Street Establishment candidate is obvious.

Check out the video below, which has a audio of former President Jimmy Carter. Under Carter’s stewardship, the US economy created more private sector net jobs than George W. Bush and Barack Obama combined, and with real rising rates, and with an economy half the size of today, and with a population about 60 percent of today. He recently said on a now you can’t find it CNN interview, that “the US does not have a functioning government,” and that we should all thank Edward Snowden, a man who revealed that the US government is illegally spying on its citizens, in violation of the 4th amendment of the US Constitution, most likely at the behest and profitability of the 1 percent and their corporations. In other words, our privacy has been redistributed and become the profit makers for the 1 percent and their corporations.

US government officials, such as Republican Congressman John Boehner, have called Snowden a traitor for revealing the illegal behavior of the US government, which is like calling a man an arsonist because he has warned you that your house in on fire.

Snowden is actually guilty of exposing how corrupted by massive amounts of big money (meaning the 1 percent) the US government and both major political parties are. The corruption is at an all time high and getting worse.

The first duty of the editor of any American corporate news media is to edit and omit all news stories so as to mislead the 99 percent, as well as divert their attention from the real issues, at least as much as possible. That’s why the caption above is so accurate. Obama represents a slice of the 1 percent, which is represented by CNN; the Republicans represent another slice. That’s why there’s a difference in the headlines between CNN and the Fox Propaganda Network.

The real story, however, is the drone strike in Afganistan reported by the BBC. The billionaire Crown brothers are staunch supporters of Obama, since before he entered politics. They have a large stake in General Dynamics, which manufacture the drones that the BBC reports. Each drone strike represents massive profits for the Crown Brothers, and at taxpayer expense.

That’s why the US news media almost universally support the scams of the 1 percent that redistribute income from the 99 to the 1 percent, such as free trade treaties.
