This election the corporate media tried to focus our attention on red and blue states, changing demographics, Latinos, the culture wars and the war against women. But the election was really a referendum on the utter disaster of thirty years of Reaganomics. We were never told this since the corporate media didn’t want us to know, but Reaganomics was a scam to redistribute income from the 99 to the 1 percent that went like this; Give the rich tax breaks and they’ll use the extra money to create jobs. Instead the affluent used the money to purchase legislation in the political markets and invested in such non job creations as credit default swaps. This legislation included free income redistribution trade treaties that made it easier for US corporations to ship jobs overseas, and the difference between the old higher wages in the US and the new lower wages in third world nations deftly flew into the already fat wallets of the rich via higher corporate profits, rising dividends and surging share prices. That portion of Reaganomics is still alive, but the idea that tax cuts for the rich will lead to greater prosperity for the vast majority of people was laid to rest on November 6, 2012. Mitt Romney supported this failed policy. He lost.

The only stunning thing is that it took the American people thirty years and an economic disaster to realize what a monstrous amount of baloney the corporate news media have been feeding them for three decades about the policy.
